CART - A youth race program at Summit Central

A full season of coaching with scheduled practices and local races. Individual goals are established to ensure measurable steps are achieved while learning the fundamental skiing skills, tactics of slalom and giant slalom and equipment tuning. Our Coaches maintain PSIA or USSCA certifications. Video analysis will be employed with individual feedback. We are a club environment that emphasizes friendships and enjoying the journey.

CART - Legacy of Racer Development

The Bellevue Ski Council and Joe Harlacher hired head coach Gary Wilke to establish a middle school racing program in 1984. During 1988 the program grew and moved to the NASTAR location on the Central-Express chair. Doug Wilke and Tom Latta joined the staff. CART was founded to include PNSA Youth and Masters competitors. Doug Wilke has taken the helm and is focused on developing young racers.

CART - Something for Everyone! Our members are advanced intermediate youth and teenage racers seeking the challenge, enjoyment and confidence that racing will develop in each skier. Club members are invited to all practice sessions.

CART Youth is a race team, not a ski school. Skiers must be skiing Intermediate (Blue) terrain with linked parallel turns. Our training does not allow us to admit skiers making wedge/snowplow turns.

Practice courses and other race training drills are employed in a safe, and supportive environment. We offer the opportunity to improve at your pace, commitment of time, travel and budget.

CART Team Member Benefits

Even if The Summit sells out of season passes for the public, CART team members will be able to purchase a season pass. CART team members will receive instructions on how to purchase a Season Pass once payment is received. The online purchasing instructions will be e-mailed to you with your lesson confirmation.
